I've been dropping into your journal four a couple of years now via Mistress Matisse's site. I think I may have commented once or twice. I'd like to stick around because I really enjoy the photography and the political/political humor updates.

malixe_photo community as well (or instead). I've taken to rummaging through my archives every now and then and dropping pictures in there at random intervals as the mood strikes me...

...and would like to come in. I enjoy your photography very much, have been at a number of events where you were shooting. I am a CSPC member and have several RL friends in common with you. Introduced myself to you one time, at a holiday party last December.

My face is familiar, but I can't remember my name... Oh! Hi, I didn't see you standing there. Yeah sure, come on in while I rack my brains trying to remember which holiday party and what name you used when you introduced yourself. Maybe you'll give me a second chance some time.

I have a mind like a steel...sieve. New information goes in the top and slowly, gradually, dribbles right back out the bottom again.

It was a party given by Charles at his house, and I probably would have used the name Rene'. I'm sure I'll see you around again sometime, and I'll make a point of greeting you if you aren't busy. In the meantime, thanks for adding me.

No, that's what I meant by 'without prejudice'... :) I'm just viewing it as a harmless mistake I needed to correct as part of my job as moderator.

If your comment -here- were obnoxious or belligerent, or if you repeatedly posted similar things with obvious bad intent, I would certainly have given it some thought... But I don't see any of those things and it just seemed like a minor misunderstanding of what that community is about.

Everybody makes a mistake every now and then, and I'm not someone who goes around taking it personally when that happens.

Hopefully you'll find an opportunity to post something that -does- fit the community, and even if not, you're welcome to continue enjoying it. Just, you know, learn from the mistake! :)

I added you on @SEAF2009's recommendation once I mentioned I was interested in seeing what it takes to become a staff photographer for next year's SEAF. Could I talk to you about that? If so, how would be best?

I don't mean to be rude, and I'm not, I'm actually just being honest, and sometimes people confuse the two; but this is just not the best time to ask me about this.

Like many of the other planning committee members, I've got somewhat of a case of Festival fatigue right now, and you're asking me about a problem I've already solved for this year and I'm not real interested in thinking about next year at just this moment. We spend all year planning for it, and the only respite from thinking about it comes (for me at least) about a month after it's over. Like, right now.

Early inquiries impress me. Just not *this* early. :) Frantic inquiries two weeks before the festival after I've already gotten my folks lined up, do not impress me. Check back with me oh, sometime around next February and you'll find me much more receptive. Be prepared to show me an online portfolio of some really good event photography. Not portraits, not studio, and you only get half points for weddings. ;)

Show me that you've had some exposure to or involvement in alternative lifestyle/sex-positive communities and events and that's a bonus.

I hope that helps. That's all I have to say about that for the time being.
